When i went to install it showed me my hd's on a list. asked me to select. When i did select an hd the system told me i couldent install on that partition. so i went into advanced options. hit the deleate partition icon, let it deleate my old partition, then formatted it. it wouldent let me untill i changed a bios setting then after that the install went ok.

the icons at the bottom are what i used. to the right if you click on advanced you have options to delete format and make new partitions.i have 2 hard drivesi deleated the old partitions. formated the drives then created new partitions. The message that thenoccured was windows wasent sure if my hardware could boot fromthe selected device/partition.i aborted install and had it restart in my bios i changed my hd's to auto detect.

Hi, Thank you for posting. May I know if the error message 0x80080206 is received when you visiting Genuine Microsoft Software site to validate Windows 7? After validating on this site, you may receive: It appears that you are using an operating system that is not currently supported by the validation process. Only the following operating systems are currently supported: Windows XP Home Edition Windows XP Professional Windows XP Starter Edition Windows XP Media Center Edition Windows XP Tablet PC Edition Windows Vista If you are running Windows 7 Beta or the Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC), you are seeing this message because the product is not yet available for purchase. And the error message is 0x80080206. If so, this is a normal behavior. To check the Activation status, we can just go to Control Panel - System and Security - System. If it is not activated, please input the key you have to activate it. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT

Mirke - You could try going to the Windows 7 download pageand getting another key. Just start the download process as you would and you'll be given a new key. Note - you do not need to download the software again - just take the key, copy/paste it into the Activation screen directly and try it again.

Restart your computer and enter BIOS setup. Check to see if the date and time are current and not set to a future date.
